Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, ScratchDefense™ is induction-ready!
ScratchDefense™ A1 Series is constructed with Circulon’s signature stainless steel base.
This thick, warp-resistant steel base is induction-suitable, providing fast, even heat from edge to edge for superior heat distribution on all cooktops, including gas and electric stoves.
Such a great question!
The revolutionary ScratchDefense™ Nonstick Technology is crafted from extremely durable aerospace-grade material, creating a thicker and harder surface than has ever been seen in ordinary nonstick cookware.
The ground-breaking durability is introduced utilizing speciality materials commonly used in aerospace design, due to their strength and heat-resistant properties, particularly under high-stress conditions.
We know you’ve been asking, and YES.. these materials are completely safe for use in nonstick cookware.

You love to cook with metal utensils? So do we!
In fact, for over 35 years, our customer-centered design research has shown that customers LOVE using metal utensils, but hate scratched nonstick!
In ScratchDefense™ A1 Series, we set out to deliver the most extreme nonstick durability EVER seen in cookware! Constructed from thicker and stronger aerospace-grade material, laboratory tests showed that ScratchDefense™ can withstand over 350,000 heavy, metal utensil scrapes with minimal wear and tear.
This test essentially simulates over 200 years of use, based on average daily cooking behavior, while the leading nonstick competitor showed damage in as little as 5 scrapes.
We’re so confident in the nonstick durability of ScratchDefense™, we’ll upgrade the purchase of any A1 Series 10-Piece Cookware Set with a FREE 3-Piece Metal Utensil Tool Set. Get set to flip, scrape and stir away.
Gift valued at $39.99. Offer valid through 11:59p.m. July 5th, 2023.

Absolutely, glad you asked! The oven-safe versatility of our nonstick cookware is one of the most admired features by Circulon customers.
ScratchDefense™ pots and pans are oven-safe up to 400ºF, which is adequate for most recipes and everyday cooking. Together with the durable surface construction, A1 Series is designed with dual-riveted silicone handles that are completely oven-safe.
Circulon nonstick is not broiler safe and should not exceed temperatures above 400ºF.
Best Cooking Temperature for Nonstick
Circulon nonstick cookware should never be overheated and therefore low-to-medium heat is recommended for optimal cooking and extending the life of nonstick coatings.
For over 35 years, Circulon products have been rigorously tested at every stage of production to ensure that you receive the safest and most durable nonstick cookware possible.
Nonstick coatings are considered safe for normal kitchen use and can be used at temperatures up to approximately 400° F (204° C).
Pre-Heating Nonstick Cookware
Circulon nonstick cookware, including ScratchDefense™ Nonstick, Hard-Anodized Nonstick and Hybrid Stainless Steel Nonstick products should not be used at temperatures above 400ºF.
Due to the quality of materials and superior heat distribution of Circulon cookware, high temperatures can be reached within minutes when a dry or empty pan is left on a hot burner or in a hot oven. Nonstick products should not be left unattended or allowed to get very hot without food in the pan.
In general, even premium nonstick cookware can begin to deteriorate and lose performance at extremely high temperatures. Our products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty when proper use and care are taken.
