Absolutely, glad you asked! The oven-safe versatility of our nonstick cookware is one of the most admired features by Circulon customers. 

ScratchDefense™ pots and pans are oven-safe up to 400ºF, which is adequate for most recipes and everyday cooking. Together with the durable surface construction, A1 Series is designed with dual-riveted silicone handles that are completely oven-safe.  

Circulon nonstick is not broiler safe and should not exceed temperatures above 400ºF.

Best Cooking Temperature for Nonstick

Circulon nonstick cookware should never be overheated and therefore low-to-medium heat is recommended for optimal cooking and extending the life of nonstick coatings.

For over 35 years, Circulon products have been rigorously tested at every stage of production to ensure that you receive the safest and most durable nonstick cookware possible.

Nonstick coatings are considered safe for normal kitchen use and can be used at temperatures up to approximately 400° F (204° C). 

Pre-Heating Nonstick Cookware

Circulon nonstick cookware, including ScratchDefense™ Nonstick, Hard-Anodized Nonstick and Hybrid Stainless Steel Nonstick products should not be used at temperatures above 400ºF.

Due to the quality of materials and superior heat distribution of Circulon cookware, high temperatures can be reached within minutes when a dry or empty pan is left on a hot burner or in a hot oven. Nonstick products should not be left unattended or allowed to get very hot without food in the pan.

In general, even premium nonstick cookware can begin to deteriorate and lose performance at extremely high temperatures. Our products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty when proper use and care are taken. 

Unlike other cookware that claims to be dishwasher A1 ScratchDefense™ pans are purposefully engineered to be dishwasher safe. Below are 3 key features that ensure their durability, safety and performance will endure even after thousands of dishwasher cycles.

• A1 ScratchDefense™ pots and pans are designed with tough, aerospace-grade material designed to withstand high temperature. So from cooking to cleaning, you can be assured your cookware will maintain its exceptional nonstick properties.
  
• Additionally, A1 ScratchDefense™ pans feature a solid stainless steel base from edge to  edge that prevents rust and corrosion on the underside of the cookware. 
  
• To further enhance their dishwasher safety, A1 ScratchDefense™ pans have reinforced rolled rims. The toughened, rolled rim design is engineered to eliminate sharp, exposed aluminum edges that can cause serious injury.

Handwashing recommended to retain the mirror-polish exterior. Harsh dishwasher detergents can dull the shine. ScratchDefense™ nonstick ensures fast and easy cleaning—just wipe, rinse, and go!

This type of material is used in different industries, like the aerospace industry, for its durability and heat resistance as it provides the high strength and thermal isolation for dependable performance in reinforcements for composite panels including hard points, thermal isolators and fasteners. Bearing and wear components also capitalize on the wear resistant grades of ultra high-performance polymers for strength, long life and precision operation

One of the unique benefits of being in the cookware industry for so long, being founded by a cookware engineer, and having dedicated proprietary testing and R&D facilities, is that we get to have access to, and knowledge of, cutting edge materials and processes.
